Tokki and candy store

Let me tell you something, preparing for the Santa Claus is quite challenging.

Let me tell you something, preparing for the Santa Claus is quite challenging. Especially when you have someone at home who is obsessive about Christmas. Whole day it’s like: golden jingle bell here, red bow there and we have to go buy that and make that and that… My head goes around cause of it.

What I can actually help with is picking up the tastiest candies for Christmas. I so enjoy doing the taste tests. Today we went to our most favorite Patisserie Cukrárna Saint-Tropez. Besides my usual staring on the amazing deserts, we started our Christmas tender for Bûche de Noël also know as the French Christmas log. Allegedly we cannot be without that.

So we had our first chunk of white log with a chestnut filling and I know we have agreed we will taste other kinds too (so we can compare), but I still have the impression that the chestnut filled log will be the right jewel for our ceremonial table. I voted YES with my two paws and let’s face it, who knows more about French desserts than French bulldog. So we are done here, approved. And like the last time everyone was cuddling me, even the sweet lady that was smelling like a cupcakes. And yet again my favorite pastry chef brought me a cookie, he is just the best.

Although my female master keeps baking at home(male master eats it like a hungry hippo), our boxes for Christmas sweets are empty all the time, but at least we have the lovely candy smell in our apartment all time. Which is frustrating when you can’t even taste one. But I found a workaround, I climbed into the basket and ate half of the burned one. But sadly my female master found out and I got called a pig and had to sit in my shame corner… But it was worth it. I mean the gingerbread had burnt only one half so since I’m so smart and eco/bio I ate the not-burnt part (such waste to throw away nearly perfect cookie, such wasteful). If my female master wouldn’t caught me up so quickly, maybe I would eat the other half but shhh, after all I’m not a pig…
